Hey there, I’m Taylor Desens
I find, build, and automate tools that fix the biggest marketing gaps in business
I’m a pattern-finder with a head for development and a heart for marketing. I’m not just good at spotting bugs. Whether the problem is a campaign, the tech running your systems, or or the gap between them, I find it and make it run.
Who Is Taylor Desens?
Heya. I’m a self-taught developer turned marketing strategist. I work both sides of the board and speak geek AND corporate board speak.
I started Desens Digital, a small web and marketing agency in 2012 and I’ve been building cool shit online ever since.

I find, build, and automate tools that fix the biggest marketing gaps in small business
I’m a prolific builder. I split my time between a half-dozen passion projects and my fractional CMO practice, Capstone Integrations.
- I am currently building Tether Notes, an agentic support tool for small teams to share knowledge across clients, projects, and AI tools.
- I built and run Klaxon Themes, a WordPress block-builder built by developers and designed by marketers to help small websites kick more ass.
- I built and lead The Kitchen Table, a community for women running businesses in Saline County to show them exactly what big companies do to stay big.
- I’m the founder and president of Blue Dot in a Red State.
- I’m co-leader for a Women In WordPress group on Facebook.
- I’m on the leadership board for the Democratic Party of Saline County.
When I’m not suggesting one more tweak
I’m drawing whimsical creatures, making weird crochet critters, building a LEGO thing, or reading fantasy and sci-fi. Either way, it’s happening while I’m outside with the fam.
What have I built?
My varied and diversified portfolio is less a list of cool projects and more a list of giant gaps I found along the way. If I couldn’t stop thinking about the problem, I built a solution that made my clients feel safer and my workload a little easier.
the gap
Businesses are paying a developer and a marketer who never talked to each other and don’t know what the other was doing.
what i built
Web development and marketing under one roof with a small team that delivers results AND talks daily.
the gap
Companies have marketing activity across headcount and agencies without senior ownership of the output.
what i built
A fractional CMO practice. Senior marketing leadership without a full-time hire for companies connecting the dots.
the gap
Clients want easy-to-use websites but don’t have the time to learn all of the marketing tricks that help them improve engagement.
what i built
A library of 100+ block patterns for the WordPress block editor that is designed by a marketer, built by a developer, and tweaked by SEO specialists to maximize marketing functions.
the gap
Clients are struggling to coordinate and repeat content when their team context lives across teams, devices, and AI tools.
what i built
An agentic memory layer for client work, so the history of every relationship stays findable, sharable, and repeatable.
the gap
Women running businesses in Saline County don’t have a local network to talk about the issues and ideas that come up the most.
what i built
A free, quarterly gathering in town for women who run businesses. One part strategy, two parts peer support, zero business cards.
the gap
Democratic parties holding fundraisers online end up spending too much time executing for too small of a pay-out.
what i built
A fundraising opportunity for local parties to raise funds and spread awareness without spending anything.
I usually get called when:
- Leads come in, but they disappear
- I see lots of activity, but not much about what’s working
- We’re working hard but not working together
- Nobody can tell me which tools are active and which are useful
- The marketing team can’t manage the website
That’s Fragmentation, baby
Your tools, your team and your marketing are each doing something, just not the same thing. The gaps between them are where revenue leaks and .
That’s not a performance problem, its a gap in the flow; and it’s fixable.
What is it like to work with Taylor?
I’ve worked with founders, agency owners, marketing directors, and nonprofits. Some of them hired me directly, the rest hired me to make their own clients look good.
Groups I’ve worked with
Let’s talk about what’s going on and figure out what’s broken.
No pressure, and if I’m not the right person I’ll help you find one who is.
